Yep, Starting to install my "read through the hull" depth sounder! According to the instruction sheet, it does not work through wood! So I had to use a 3 1/2" hole saw to remove my wooden hull under it.

You have no idea how painful that was!!! What a terrible sight, laying on the deck and being able to see the trailer's axle.

I'll feel much better when I can get that gaping hole fiberglassed and epoxied. Hopefully this weekend will be warm enough for me to work the epoxy.

OUCH, and I was hurting when I saw the gaping hole in my Nitro (getting fixed next week). But your pride and joy and so many years working on it - that had to hurt. Think I'd been trying every other idea rather than cut a hole in it Confused

Thanks for sharing my "emotional" hurt, guys!

I'm sure I'll be happy to have a working depth sounder this summer, and will have forgotten the painful steps getting there!

I wonder if I could just caulk the hole??????   LOL (Maybe if I use a couple of tubes!!!!)

I didn't intend to keep the plug, but if you'd like to have it, I can send it to you.  There is a freind from work who lives very close to you!
