Complete restoration over 6 weeks. Replaced everything including the skins - only original parts are the steering wheel and horn (too cool not to keep!). Originally blue and white; now black and tan. Very fun project! ![]() Day 1 ![]() ![]() ![]() Assembly begins! ![]() Yikes - more work than I originally thought it would be, but worth it! ![]() Rails done - until my wife decided she wanted it two-toned - had to add tan on the upper section. ![]() First lay-out in garage - new helm too big, had to modify sundeck and back rails. ![]() Final mock-up ![]() Night cruise with new helm... ![]() ![]() Maiden Voyage! ![]() Edited by mtskowronski - 01/23/2016 at 3:49am |

Thanks! More than expected, but definitely worth it - really helped modernize the boat - just wish it were thicker, it can be touchy.

That looks awesome! We are in the process of restoring a 1985 24' flote-bote... there are a lot of similarities, so seeing your boat really helps.
Where did you get the LED strip navigation light for the bow? (the red and the green). They look really good and fit well there, there isn't a lot of space for a different light up there. We are in the process of rebuilding the old light with new sockets and LED replacement lamps, but I wouldn't mind having a navigation light like you have there on the topside so it will be more visible, especially since we are (also) putting the under deck lighting on. PS - someone needs to buy you some new snazzy ID#'s to go with your new snazzy boat! LOL! ![]() thanks Melanie |

We are about to attempt this (along with new seats and console). What thickness of metal did you get?

Love your boat! I bought a 1986 Flotebote that's 28' long with an inboard 120 horse. Needs the interior redone too so I'll probably be using your body as a template for mine.
